As part of the application, there are two documents to be uploaded.

Document #1 - Essay: This is where you tell the Foundation why they should select you for a scholarship.

• Limited to two pages, line spacing of at least 1.5
• Use spell check. Presentation counts.
• Type your name on the top of the essay.
• Suggested topics.
  • What are your educational/academic goals?
  • Why have you chosen this field of study?
  • What are your future career plans?
  • How do you plan to use your studies to achieve your future
    career plans?
  • What person or life-changing experience has made you who
    you are today?
  • Which community service projects are you most proud of
    and why?
    

If you choose to submit a prior written essay for other scholarship applications, make sure you have the correct scholarship name in the essay submitted to the Palumbo Family Foundation. If a wrong scholarship program name is submitted, your essay will be considered invalid.

Document #2 -Activities summary: Provide us with an outline of your extracurricular activities, community service, and volunteer work. Provide a brief paragraph at the end as to which meant the most to you and why.

Microsoft Word or pdf are the only acceptable formats for both documents. The Foundation is not responsible for documents uploaded incorrectly or in the incorrect format or with the incorrect file name.

Documents are uploaded as part of the application submittal.

Q. What is the application process timeline?
A. Application submittal deadline is midnight, March 31st.

Applicants will be notified by email if selected as a finalist or not selected by April 30th.

Finalist will be provided the deadline date for submitting the required supporting documentation.

Finalist who has met all requirements and are eligible for a scholarship will be scheduled for an interview, on a date to be determined, with the Palumbo Family Foundation board. Generally, interviews are scheduled on predetermined Saturdays during the month of June.

If selected for a scholarship, notification including the award amount will be emailed no later than July 1st.

Funding will be sent directly to the college you will be attending on your behalf by August 31st or payment due date.
